Cloud is good for Business

Whenever a new technology hits the market, the first challenge that it faces is to be able to stand out from the crowd and establish a devoted following, once this is achieved, the next task is to grow on its popularity and widen its reach with respect to its area of implementation, and the 3rd and final task is to repeat the first 2 steps with ample regularity and consistency.

Having said that it rarely happens that a new technology finds such wide range acceptance in the  IT industry, but there is one such technology that promises to do all this and more, it infact has the potential to revolutionize the way data is stored and processed in organizations, this incredible phenomenon is – Cloud Computing.

So what exactly is “cloud computing” ? — Cloud computing is the next stage in evolution of the Internet. The cloud in cloud computing provides the means through which everything — from computing power to computing infrastructure, applications, business processes to personal collaboration — can be delivered to you as a service wherever and whenever you need.

In a nutshell Cloud Computing has the incredible ability to lift your business from defecating servers, crowded cables  to the insurmountable heights that it deserves. It is never too late to adopt a technology that has the ability to minimize the cost incurred on resources and at the same time maximize productivity, and if this methodology under question can actually do that to not one but a cloud (multiple) of organizations then call it what the likes of Evan Williams and Biz Stone ought to call Twitter

“The consortium of all things fine in intense IT”.

Here is an example of how powerful this technology can be, imagine the companies shown in the figure below, now imagine the volume of data they need to store and the kind of resources required to do so, now imagine all of these tech giants using 1 single cloud to do all of that and be able to save multi million dollars, I mean if cloud computing can gel this kind of data together and make it work smoothly, then obviously there are no other bigger objectives left to achieve on Planet Earth.

Cloud Computing has taken the world by storm.

This is but a glimpse of what this new phenomenon can achieve, hopefully this emerging trend reaches its full potential and saves billions of dollars, which can then be put to use at something better, something worthwhile, like paying me a decent amount for writing this blog.

Attention Grabber : STL to publish cloud computing e-Books in the very near future. Keep watching this space for more.
